Hi! I will appreciate if someone can give me some info about competition in surgery residency.
Also, about good programs in NY and their expectations.

I know next to nothing about surgery residencies. You probably would want to find another website that focuses on surgical fields. I do know that when I was finishing medical school 8 years ago, surgery residency programs were all very competitive. Basically, general surgery was very competitive, and then anything specialized seem to be even more competitive, with the most competitive being orthopedic surgery.
