Contempt of court charges

Postby Guest » Mon Mar 29, 2004 4:47 pm

Three years ago I was written a fictitious ticket in a small NC town. The charges were: driving with wonton disregard for the safety of others, and spinning tires. I told the judge these charges were completely falisified and he slaped me with contempt. Could something as minor as that keep me from an interview?

I'm not a lawyer, so what do you mean by "he slapped me with contempt"? Is that a misdemeanor or a felony charge? Unless it is a felony, I doubt it'll have much effect. I didn't have to deal with any legal charges though, and I know that on some applications (don't remember if it was med school, licensing, or residency) it did ask something about legal charges.

I'm not sure who would be the best person to answer this question either - sorry I don't have more info for you.
