Does AP English count towards pre-med requirement?

Postby Guest » Tue Aug 31, 2010 8:13 pm

I am new to the board so sorry if I have posted this in the wrong section. I was wondering if I had placed out of taking English by taking English AP in high school and scoring a 5, and that satisfies my school's English requirements, do I still have to take English as a pre-med requirement? Thank you.

It varies by medical school. The general advice you will probably hear is that you should assume the medical school will not accept the AP credits in the pre-med courses. If you know the medical schools to which you are likely going to apply, you could contact their medical school admissions department and ask. You may get lucky and find out the schools you are considering will accept your AP credits.

Please share what you find out if you do contact any medical schools directly.
