Hey does it matter if you get your bachelors degree from a school different than the one you are planning on applying to medical school at? I mean do you have better chances if they are the same school?

For the most part, it doesn't make too much difference if you go to undergrad at the same school you are applying to for med school. If you happen to do research with someone in the med school, and they like you enough to write a recommendation or to call the dean for you, then obviously that can help, but I'm not aware of that actually happening with anyone I know.

I think it is important, though, to go to a top ranked school for undergrad if you want to go to a top ranked medical school. I have heard that some of the most selective medical schools will mainly consider only undergrads from top schools.
