Re: med school epiphany

I am a US citizen who went to Penn State U my first three years in school and finished my degree in Australia in Genetics. I have spent the last 6 months researching at a local institute and realized as a social adept person, I may not be cut out for the life of a lab rat...interesting material, boring life. So I have decided, without a doubt, medical school is my passion. I have been out of touch with the US so I haven't made the contacts or educational desicions one would make as a Pre-Med student. Can anyone please tell me what (besides good MCAT scores) Medical schools are looking for when considering you for a position? Does anyone know how difficult it might be having an overseas degree and trying to apply. I am in search of a mentor who takes life very seriously, but not themselves!!!
