There is alot of talk about poor GPA and such...my question is how bad is bad? Is below a 3.7 bad? Is it below a 3.0?? I have a 3.429, is that bad????
Thanks!

On a scale of 4.0, I think most people would consider below 3.0 as bad. Many people would consider below 3.2 as bad. Some would consider below 3.4 as bad. A few people would consider below 3.5 bad.

These are just numbers I've picked off the top of my head. I remember there was one book out there years ago that listed the average GPA and MCAT scores for each med school - wish I remembered which book that was now. Anyway, I think most of the schools had students with an average college GPA of around 3.6 or 3.7. Can't remember exactly, but that's what comes to mind.

I've known people with 3.3 GPA's get into med school - I'm sure there are people with lower GPA's out there that have gotten in as well.
